Navigating the App
Learn how to navigate CTSO Central's interface and find what you need.
Overview
CTSO Central uses a top navigation bar to organize all major features into a clean, role-aware layout. What you see depends on your role and scope within your organization.
Dashboard
When you log in, you land on the Dashboard. It displays summary statistics as clickable cards:
- Associations — total count (visible to National and Association users)
- Regions — total count (visible to Association users)
- Chapters — total count (visible to all users)
- Total Members — total count (visible to all users)
Each card links directly to its corresponding management page.
Top Navigation Bar
The navigation bar sits at the top of every page. On the left you'll see the CTSO Central logo, and to its right the main navigation items:

Dashboard — your home page with summary statistics

Chapters (or Chapter for chapter-level users) — manage chapters within your scope

Membership — view and manage members

Conferences — create, view, and manage conferences

More - more navigation items will be shown here based on your role and scope:
- Proctor — proctor exam sessions (for users with Proctor permissions only)
- CRM — customer relationship management with leads and pipelines

Search (magnifying glass icon) — a universal search for everything in CTSO Central.

Appearance (sun/moon icon) — toggle between light and dark mode.

Settings (gear icon) — a dropdown hub for account, administration, and testing configuration.
Settings Hub
Click Settings in the navigation bar to open a dropdown organized into sections. The sections you see will depend on your role.
Universal Search
Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) at any time to open the search modal. You can also click the search icon in the navigation bar.
Universal Search lets you find records across all of CTSO Central.
- Type your query and results appear instantly, grouped by category.
- Click a result to navigate directly to that item.
- Recent searches and recently viewed items appear when you first open the Universal Search window.
Mobile Navigation
On smaller screens, the top navigation bar collapses into a hamburger menu. Tap the menu icon to open a full-screen overlay with the same navigation items and settings sections. Tapping any link closes the menu and navigates to that page.
